Family Practice and
Integrative Medicine Center

The opening of the Family Practice and Integrative Medicine Center, in September 2004, represents "phase 1" of the MICAH Health Center. RiverView Health has been extremely supportive of our mission to create an integrative medicine center. They have provided us with the space and staff to run the clinic.

Many services are covered by health insurance. Telephone consultations are available in certain situations when an appointment at the clinic is prohibitive. We welcome all insurances.

About Integrative Medicine

The combination of modern and natural medical approaches, referred to as integrative medicine, is growing rapidly in medical centers across the country and is becoming more widely accepted by the general public. Many people who are using supplements or herbs today do so without talking about it with their personal doctors. They are either afraid their doctors won¹t approve or assume they don¹t have any experience or training in that area. Integrative medicine allows patients to see a doctor that can combine both approaches to medicine.

Our goal is to bring an interdisciplinary team together to offer comprehensive care. Staff function as a unified team with the ability to provide a full range of complementary and alternative services in a single setting. The team meets monthly to spend time reflecting on the vision of the center and developing our collaborative clinical work.

Integrative Medicine focuses on the whole patient, addressing all factors that affect health. The RiverView Family Practice and Integrative Medicine Center recognizes this as the key component to health and well being, and provides services for healing body, mind and spirit. The patient and practitioner partner to seek this health and healing.
